Ok, so it's taken me a while to update. What can I say, we've been busy! First, my sister gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Quinn Gracen Fuller on November 5th. I can't believe it's already been over a month! I am bursting at the seams to meet her, she's absolutely precious. And my sister, I've never been so proud of her in my life. She has embraced motherhood in a way I never expected and is a natural! Unfortunately Quinn is a bit collicky so Hil isn't getting much sleep but she's so patient I hear and doing a wonderful job. My mom has been fortunate enough to spend time with Jason, Hil, and Quinn on two occasions. Right when Quinn was born and now she's down again to give Hil a little rest before Christmas. Mom is constantly telling me how amazing Hilary is and how impressed she is with Hil and Jason.

As if the arrival of baby Quinn wasn't exciting enough...

Mom decided after two weeks in Dallas with Hilary's family, that she better get back to Nebraska to await the arrival of our little girl. She came back November 20th, went to work on the 21st, and at approximately 12:30pm on the 22nd, I called mom and dad to put them on "high alert", we were on our way to the hospital but unsure whether or not I was in labor. For all of those who say, "don't worry, if it's real labor you will know!", they're wrong. The whole family got a stomach bug Friday night and we were just sick! I was having contractions on and off throughout the night but figured it was due to the bug... By morning they were still coming on and off but not really at regular intervals. Fred was getting nervous and made me call the doctor. She told me to go ahead and go on in, when I told her about the stomach bug we all had, she said that probably kicked it all into gear and she was calling the hospital to tell them I was on my way. Fred and I called my cousin Ashley here in town and she came to stay with Wyatt (who was sleeping) while we went to the hospital. By the time we arrived, I was dilated to 4 and my contractions were every 1 to 2 minutes apart! By 4:30 I couldn't take it any more, I called for the epidural. I'll save you all of the gory details and cut right to the point, I went fast, my epidural only worked on the left side of my body, by 7pm I was fully dilated, Doctor arrived at 7:20, we started pushing and 12 minutes later (yes, only 4 pushes!) Arabella Raye arrived. She was 7lb 1 1/2 oz and 20.25 inches long. She is beautiful with black hair and the longest fingers and toes I've ever seen!

Fred and I are so blessed. Bella sleeps like a rock, rarely fusses, and her big brother is warming up to her very quickly! He is finally giving hugs and kisses and realizing she is here to stay. We are so excited to spend the holidays with family. I will be heading down to Lincoln on the 20th with the kids, and Fred will be joining us on the 22nd. He has to work the 20th and 21st. Then we are back to Grand Island Christmas evening and will be spending the weekend after Christmas in Maywood with Fred's family. It will be a busy week but should be a lot of fun!

Oh good grief

What do I have to complain about? Nothing, I was in bed thinking last night that I am so lucky. I have a beautiful healthy family, Fred and I both have jobs, a home, etc. Yet I'm still complaining that I can't breathe because I have a foot jammed into my diaphragm 24/7.
I have an interview tomorrow for an Internal Med office, their clinical trials department. Not sure how I feel about it, I really like my Oncology job right now, I just wish it was full time. I don't fee like I ever get anything accomplished going 2 days a week. I figure it never hurts to keep my feelers out there!
We had our last (most likely) ultrasound last week. Baby girl is still a girl and growing wonderfully. She is 3 lbs 10 oz so far, right on track. Looks like we're still shooting for the end of November, first of December.
Otherwise, not much else to report, Wyatt and I spent the weekend with Mom in Lincoln which was wonderful. We had a such a nice time. Just played a lot and hung out around the house, it was great, we were all disappointed when we had to head for home. He definitely loves his grandma! Fortunately he was sleeping when we left so he didn't realize until we were in Grand Island that Grandma was no longer there, otherwise, there may have been trouble.
We were supposed to go to Jake and Angie's Wedding this weekend, unfortunately Fred was called for mandatory overtime so he stayed in GI. One of the downfalls of his job I guess. It doesn't seem to bad except he only gets 24 hours off until he goes back, that always seems hard.
Nonetheless, he loves his job so we deal with it.
We did get an armoire off of craigslist this weekend and my parents are letting us refinish a dresser that they have for the baby's room, so now we just need to finish the flooring, paint, and get a changing pad, not to mention haul a trailer down to Lincoln to pick up all of this furniture! Either way, Bella's room is coming together and it's a great feeling. Next stop, diaper genie!

Ok, it's been a little since I've written. Fred finished sanding the nursery floor last night. This is a BIG step in getting baby Arabella's room done and ready! Now we just have to stain and paint the walls...baby steps.
As for me, I'm whiny, crabby, and sore. Fred is dealing with me very well and keeping his eye rolling to a minimum. I've decided it really is true, your body somehow blocks out all of the terrible parts of pregnancy. As much as I try to convince myself that all of the back pain and belly pain I'm having is completely foreign to me, I think it's a cover. I think I have repressed those memories... I'm pretty sure the more I think about it, the third trimester of pregnancy sucks, all around, no exceptions.
I have a Dr. Appt tomorrow, after one trip to the ER with back pain so bad I thought I had a kidney stone, I'm sure she'll just smile and tell me everything is fine. The good news is we will schedule our last ultrasound, so hopefully we'll get one last good look at our baby girl before we start painting her room!
More to come after the appt!

First Blog

Ok, we're jumping on the bandwagon to keep everyone informed of our crazy lives! Right now we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little girl (due December 1st). In the mean time we have a nursery to redo, a mural to paint, carpet and tile to lay, and a fence to put up....hmmm, when I say we, did I mention I mean Fred? He will be busy these next few months but it will be worth it when Arabella arrives!
We are on our way this weekend to Beatrice to celebrate Karly's 1st birthday. This is Kim and Jeremy's little girl. Can't wait to see how big she's gotten, I'm sure Wyatt will have a blast playing with her!!!
Hopefully we'll have pictures when we get back!
